Improving on our mission to provide local residents with more balanced and accurate news about their neighborhoods, NNB student-reporters are being assigned local geographical beats to cover starting in summer 2017. This process allows our reporters to focus on specific neighborhoods, building better relationships and learning more about their assigned locations. This should also result in more consistent information flows from each neighborhood.

  1. South: Highland Oaks, Lake Maggiore Shores, Harbordale, Lakewood Terrace and Lakewood High School.
  2. West: Childs Park, 34th Street, south of Central Oaks Park and south of Childs Park between Gulfport and Highland Oaks.
  3. Central: 22nd Street S. (The Deuces), Melrose-Mercy, Jordan Park, Palmetto Park & Warehouse District and Mel-Tan Heights.
  4. East: Bartlett Park, Fruitland Heights, Cromwell Heights, 13th Street Heights, Campbell Park and Historic Roser Park.
