Juneteenth 2011 – St. Petersburg
Neighborhood News Bureau volunteered at the Campbell Park 2011 Juneteenth festival in St. Petersburg. The NNB junior and senior status journalism students worked closely with Juneteenth coordinator Faye Dowdell and other volunteers throughout the day with set-up, supervision of games, event ticketing and other assignments as needed. 2011 was the second year NNB students volunteered at Juneteenth as a civic engagement component of the advanced journalism writing class at USFSP.
